Meditation and mindfulness:

David Brockett, LPC, LMT 

*David Brockett has been a clinician for CTS since 2012

A mental health counselor, David Brockett received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University after completing an internship at The Cleveland Clinic in their Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program, where he provided individual and group counseling for the patients, and taught mindfulness and meditation techniques for coping with chronic pain.

An accomplished French Horn player, Mr. Brockett also holds degrees in Music Performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music and The University of Akron. He has performed regularly with symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, most notably The Cleveland Orchestra, The Utah Symphony and The Cincinnati Symphony, as well as having recorded for radio, television and the Big Screen. He is a founding member of Burning River Brass. Neurological injury led to a shift in career focus, which includes his ongoing work with performers in mindfulness and meditation techniques for a variety of issues including performance anxiety.   

  A long time Martial Artist, Mr. Brockett has trained in Chen Style Tai-Chi, Fu BaGua, and classical Wing Chun. He also holds a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. In addition, Mr. Brockett practices Bikram Yoga. His meditation studies began with Zen training before eventually starting a regular practice of Shamatha, Vipassana, and Tibetan meditation yogas. Mr. Brockett is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through Tibet House US and Dharma Moon. He has taught wellness classes at Northwestern University’s School of Music, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, and Miami University. He currently teaches meditation and wellness classes at The Cleveland Institute of Music. Mr. Brockett is also a State of Ohio Medical Board Licensed Massage Therapist.

 

Physical therapy:

Jessica Pisano, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

* Jessica Pisano has been a clinician for CTS since 2015

    Dr. Pisano has been a practicing physical therapist in outpatient orthopedics for 14 years with experience working with all ages and diverse client backgrounds, including athletes, performing artists and those with chronic pain or trauma. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and is Certified in Integrative Dry Needling.

In addition to practicing as a physiotherapist, she is the mother of 2 toddler aged boys, and enjoys being an active part of the Northeast Ohio community teaching weekly yoga, barre and cycling classes. It is her passion to encourage and empower others to take a proactive approach to their health, focusing on injury/disease risk reduction, healthy mindset and habits in order to reduce the suffering that accompanies chronic pain and dysfunction. Health is in fact our greatest wealth.

In 2022, Dr. Pisano opened The Fusion Physio in Chagrin Falls, Ohio in order to take her ability to help others heal and enhance their performance to the next level.
